Spang Animation Studios is really a one-man operation, run by me, Mike Taylor. I have spent the past 10 years running a part-time business creating 3D animation for various applications from :30 commercials to museum interactives. Some of these have been character based, others have not.

I was among the first to graduate from the 18 month online character animation program at AnimationMentor.com .  The experience was amazing, and helped land my first job at Psyop.  Equally important was the support and inspiration of my fellow students. I have never experienced such a positive and enthusiastic community, and it continues on, post-graduation.

In the Fall of 2008, I completed what may be my last “general” 3D animation so I can focus on character animation.

Next up for me is the opportunity to animate characters for an online game.  I am also working on my own short animated film.  Stay tuned!
